PARISH COUNCIL NEWS.
The Parish Council meet on the 1ST
Tuesday of each month in the ClayTAWC Centre.All meetings start at 7 p.m. and
the public are very welcome to attend.There is a regular agenda item of 10
minutes duration when members of the public may speak and raise their
particular concerns.
Notes from the Parish Council Meeting held on the 6th September.
PCSO Murray reported that there had been 9 reported crimes during August compared to 12 crimes for the same period in 2010.The culprits have been identified for 5 of these crimes.
Council agreed that the sun dial on Trelavour Prazey should be refurbished and quotations will be sought to replace the existing dial with one which will withstand the weather conditions better .The possibilities being considered are a dial in granite or brass.
The possibility of a skate park in the Playing Field is still being pursued and substantial bids for funding are about to be made to two sources.Support has also been promised by Imerys ltd,Goonvean and Bardon Aggregates.The preferred design at present is a concrete bowl which is the quietist form for this type of facility.
Grants were awarded to the following Village organisations:-
St Dennis Over 70’s Christmas Meal £300.
St Dennis Variety Company £350.
The Council had previously written to the Power Station regarding the colour of the chimney stack.The Company have replied stating the cost of changing the colour which would be in excess of £100,000 which was prohibitive and could not be justified.
The Council agreed to contact Cornwall Council again regarding the possibility of street signs for Hendra Prazey.
