NOTES FROM THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS DATED 11th AND 18th September 2007.


  1. PCSO Fisher reported that there had been 11 reported crimes during August of which 5 had been detected..

  2. Council received a talk from Ms Jess Pytel (Community Regeneration Officer,Restormel Borough Council) on the production and benefits of parish plans

  3. Council received a report from Celine Elliot (Project Manager YP2) regarding the efforts that she and PCSO Fisher had been making in establishing a dance group for younger children in the village.

  4. County Councillor Higman reported that the Government had approved the establishment of one unitary authority for the whole of Cornwall which would operate from 2009.

  5. St Dennis Transportation Study.Council agreed that given the very limited budget available from the County Council the following schemes should receive priority:-

    1. Double yellow lines -Corners of Kent Close and Wellington Rd.

    2. Removal of the pinch point-Lower end of Hendra Rd OR

    3. Double yellow lines- South side of the lower pinch point in Hendra Rd

    4. Double yellow lines- Corner of Robartes Rd (opposite the Spar shop).

    5. Erection of road sign (unsuitable for heavy vehicles) – entrance to Carne Hill off the B3279.

    6. Double yellow lines- Outside of the ClayTAWC Centre in Fore St.

  6. Councillor Mrs Ellacott reported on the progress that had been made by the newly formed St Dennis Area Community News Group which was working to introduce a parish magazine.Council approved a grant of £500 to the News Group to assist in start up costs of the magazine.

  7. The Council considered the Trelavour Downs ROMP submission by Goonvean Ltd and have sent its comments on the proposed operating conditions to the County Council.

  8. The Council agreed that the membership of the General Purposes Committee be increased to 5 to reflect the additional responsibility for the Council’s internal controls.Councillor Orchard was elected as the additional member.

  9. Council approved a grant of £300 to the St Dennis Churches Together towards the cost of the ‘Over 70’s Xmas Lunch’.
