for St Dennis Parish Council meeting September 2005
- Police Constable Carhart reported that
there had been two reported crimes during August both of
which were detected.He also reported that he would be
leaving his role as the Neighbourhood Beat Manager for St
Dennis at the end of September and thanked the Council
for their support in the last two years.At the moment the
Parish Council do not know if and when he will be
replaced.
- The question of the establishment of
alcohol free zones in the village ,first discussed with
the police in January 2005,had still not been resolved
and the Council will be pressing the police regarding
this.
- The County Councillor reported that the
County were employing consultants to consider the best
option for the disposal of waste and added that the
preferred option was likely to be decided in November.No
decision had yet been taken by the County Council with
regard to the siting of any plant.
- Parish Councillors raised with the County
Councillor the issue of the traffic calming scheme in
Hendra Road which they considered was not working well
and was potentially dangerous and said that they would be
pursuing this with the County with a view to achieving
modifications to the scheme.
- The transfer of the war memorial at
Enniscaven Chapel to the Parish Council was progressing
and should be completed shortly.
- Members of the public present raised
issues regarding the maintenance of grounds outside of
properties in Hall Rd,blocked storm drains on Trelavour
Downs,dog fouling of pavements and paths in the village
and speeding cars in the Kellow Rd area.These matters
will be pursued where possible with the appropriate
agencies.
- Councillors received and approved reports
from the General Purposes,Planning,Cemetery and Playing
Field Committees and agreed the following action:-
- Clearance of overgrown areas on the
perimeter of the cemetery.
- Support in principle to Newmoor Rovers F.C.
for their plans to build new changing rooms in the
playing field.
- Support in principle and a pledge of £500,should
it be required, to St Dennis Band Committee,for their
plans to make building improvements at the band room.
