The Parish Council meet on the 2nd Tuesday of
each month in the ClayTAWC Centre. All meetings start at 7 p.m. and the public
are very welcome to attend. There is a regular agenda item of 10 minutes duration
when members of the public may speak and raise their particular
concerns.
Notes from the
Parish Council meeting held on the 13th
October.
a)
PC Humphries reported that there had been 8
reported crimes during the month of September of which 3 had been detected to
date.
b)
The Council has
received a letter from PCSO Fisher stating that she would be leaving her post in
November having obtained a position in the Police Force.Council noted this with
regret and recorded a vote of thanks to Alex, who had carried out much good work in
the village, particularly in engaging with the young people and organising a
number of local events for all the community.
c)
Members of the
public attended the meeting to
register their complaint concerning
the continuing problem of dog fouling in School Lane which,
despite intensive action by Serco’s dog wardens in recent weeks, still persists. The
Parish Council are very concerned about the situation as many children use the
Lane and are entering the School with fouled shoes and clothing and will, in
addition to the action that it has already taken, be considering other measures
to alleviate the problem.
d)
More vandalism in the
Playing Field has resulted in the destruction of another litter bin which the
Council will have to replace at an estimated cost of
£350.
e)
Council has agreed that
a start should be made to repair the kerbs in the older part of the Garden of Rest in the Cemetery some of which are
crumbling.
f)
Council approved grants
to ‘St Dennis Churches Together’
towards the cost of the over
70’s Xmas dinner (£300) and The Royal British Legion (£80) for Remembrance Day
Wreaths.
g)
The Council agreed that Councillor Mrs Edwards should represent it at the Public
Inquiry into the ‘Incinerator application’.
