Press release for St Dennis Parish Council meeting November 2007

The Parish Council meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the ClayTAWC Centre.

All meetings start at 7 p.m. and the public are very welcome to attend.There is a regular agenda item of 10 minutes duration when members of the public may speak and raise their particular concerns.

Notes from the Parish Council meeting held on 13th November.

  1. PCSO Fisher reported that there had been 6 reported crimes during October of which 3 had been detected.PCSO Fisher also reported on the proposed football coaching scheme to be run by PC Dingle for youngsters from the village aged 9-15 years.This follows the coaching already underway for children up to 9 years old.The Parish Council is very supportive of this initiative and will be considering a possible donation at the next Council meeting.

  2. The Council received reports from County Councillor Higman on County issues and Borough Councillor Wood on Borough Council matters.Both Councillors Higman and Wood emphasised the importance of a Parish Plan being produced for St Dennis which could open up avenues of funding from outside of the Parish and also keep the Parish in the forefront of developments as more opportunities become available to parishes to have more control over services in their areas.

  3. Payments for the month of October totalling £2,646.10 were approved and the Council noted the quarterly report on its financial position as at 30th September.

  4. The Council received a report on the progress of the new magazine and a letter of thanks from the Magazine Group for its initial donation of £500.

  5. Council approved donations of £75 to the Royal British Legion for Remembrance Day wreaths and £200 to the St Dennis Brownie Guides.

  6. The Council agreed to investigate the possibility of taking over Borough Council assets within the Parish when the new Unitary Authority is established.

  7. Reports from the Planning Committee on local planning applications and the General Purposes & Audit Committee on the Council’s risk assessment review were received and approved.
