Press release
for St Dennis Parish Council meeting November 2005
Report from Parish Council Meeting 1st
November 2005.
- The Chairman gave an interesting
presentation of his visits on behalf of Restormel Borough
Council to various waste disposal facilities in the South
West and answered questions from the Parish Councillors
and the five members of the public present.
- The Police have confirmed that the
Community Policeman position will be filled in the not
too distant future.
- The Police have also confirmed that two
alcohol free zones had been approved in the village which
covered the Playing Field and the street between Hendra
Corner to the ClayTAWC Centre and notices would be going
up in the near future.
- Public concern remains high over the test
drilling at Parkandillick and the possibility of a waste
incinerator being sited near the village.A very well
attended and lively meeting in the Working Mens
Club on the 2nd November resulted in over 20
people coming forward to volunteer to establish a
pressure group to lobby the County Council on this issue.
- The Memorial Garden in the school grounds
is almost completed and a wreath will be laid there on
Remembrance Day.
- The Parish council have recently cleaned
the footpath and drains in School Lane and will be
carrying out regular inspections of this area in future
despite the fact that the Parish Council do not own the
land.A litter bin will also be provided near the school
in the not too distant future.
