Press release for St Dennis Parish Council meeting January 2006

 

Report from Parish Council Meetings 3rd January.

  1. The new Community Policeman is PC Simon Miller commenced his duties in January.
  2. The transfer to the Council of the war memorial at Enniscaven has been delayed because the works to the memorial to be carried out by the Methodist Church have yet to be completed.
  3. Due to public concern over the future of the service at St Dennis Surgery the Parish Council has written to both the Central Cornwall Primary Health Care Trust and the Practice Manager for clarification of the position. .
  4. Tregothnan Estates have agreed to clear the blocked leat to the rear of Manson Place which is causing flooding problems.The County Council will be seeking a meeting with Tregothnan Estates to see if a permanent solution can be found to the drainage problem of Trelavour Downs.
  5. The Parish council have written to the headmaster of St Dennis Primary School seeking his views on how the ‘education’ element (£8,500) of a Section 106 developer’s contribution could benefit the school.
  6. The Parish Council have nominated Mr & Mrs B.Edwards of The Old Chapel,St Dennis for an award from the Cornish Building Group Award Scheme for their excellent conversion of the old Providence Chapel in Fore Street.
  7. The Parish Council have nominated Mrs J Salmon of St Dennis for the Restormel Council’s Good Citizen Award 2005/06 for her many years of community service to the village.
  8. The Council have approved the following grant;-

£150 to STIG (St Dennis Incinerator Group).
