PARISH COUNCIL NEWS.

The Parish Council meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the ClayTAWC Centre. All meetings start at 7 p.m. and the public are very welcome to attend. There is a regular agenda item of 10 minutes duration when members of the public may speak and raise their particular concerns.

Notes from the Parish Council meetings held on the 3rd December and 9th December.

  1. PCSO Fisher reported that there had been 6 reported crimes during November of which 2 had been detected.

  2. The Council received a report from Emma Rothwell of ‘Groundwork’ on the proposed project for Trelavour Downs and confirmed that it had no objection to the scheme in principle subject to detailed negotiations on the conditions contained in any lease of the land.

  3. County Councillor Higman confirmed that the planning application from Sita Uk to establish an incinerator in St Dennis would probably be considered by the County Council Planning Committee in March 2009.

  4. The Council has again complained about the condition of the roads in the village and Councillor Higman agreed to pursue the matter with the County Council.

  5. A new roundabout and two areas of new safety surfacing have been installed in the children’s play area in the Playing Field. Most of the cost of the project will be financed by a grant of £10,000 from Restormel Borough Council.

  6. Council agreed a precept of £32,078 for 2009/10.This figure equates to an average parish council tax per dwelling of £2.03 per year.

  7. Representatives of the Environment Agency have agreed to attend a public meeting to be convened in the village,hopefully in January, to explain the decision making process with regard to the application to the Agency by Sita Uk Ltd for an environmental permit to operate an incinerator in St Dennis.
