for St Dennis Parish Council meeting October 2006
Report from the Parish
Council Meetings dated 10th
and 19th October.
- Council received a report from Councillor
Mrs.Ellacott on a County Council meeting to discuss new
funding arrangements for footpaths.The new system which
was being piloted in a few parish councils would target
gold paths and pay for a maximum of 2 cuts
per year.St Dennis was not a pilot parish and will remain
on the existing arrangements for 2007/08.
- Following a letter from St Denys P.C.C.
the Parish Council has approached the County Council to
see if funding is available to provide a signpost to St
Denys Church.
- Contractors will be starting work in
October to provide new fencing around the childrens
play area in the Playing Field.The work is expected to
take one week at a cost in the region of £15,000.To
comply with safety standards it has been necessary to
remove the roundabout from the play area.
- Major works by Restormel Borough Council
to ease the flooding problems in Hendra Prazey are
continuing.
- Council received and approved a report
from the Planning Committee meeting held on 7th
October .
- The Parish Council has sent a detailed
response to the suggestions by the County Council to
improve the traffic problems in the village and which
were shown at the public exhibition in the Working Mens
Club.
