for St Dennis Parish Council meeting May 2006
Report from the Annual Parish Council
Meetings 2nd May.
- Mr F.Greenslade was re-elected Chairman of
the Parish Council for 2006/07 and Mrs J.Clarke as vice
Chair.The Council also elected the members of the various
Council committees.
- PC Miller reported that there had been 4
reported crimes in April.He also reported that there had
been concerns over a possible reduction in policing
levels but confirmed that he would be continuing as the
Neighbourhood Beat Officer for the foreseeable future.PC
Miller added that community policing remained high
profile.
- The Councils audited accounts for
2005/06 were presented which showed that there was a
deficit in the year but that the balances remained
healthy at £24,295.
- The Council approved the provision of a
seat in the cemetery in memory of the late Raymond
Johnson,the Councils sexton for many years.
- The Council have recently heard that
mining operations could be starting on Trelavour Downs.This
will be subject to a review of the mineral permissions
given by the County Council several years ago.
Councillors Greenslade,Wood and Fisher recently met with
County Council officers to emphasise the concerns of
local people and the Parish Council have insisted that
stringent appropriate conditions are placed on any future
operations.
- Due to the Chairmans commitments at
Restormel Borough Council all future meeting of the
Parish Council will be held on the 2nd Tuesday
in each month.This will start in June when the Council
meeting will be held on Tuesday 13th
June at 7 pm.

Consultation by County Council
Councillor Greenslade reported that a
Restormel B.C. response to the Preferred Options (
Cornwall Waste Development Framework) would be forwarded
to the County Council.The Parish Council will also
forward its response to the document after discussion at
its next meeting.The consultation process is open to all
members of the public who can send their response to
County Hall. A public exhibition will take place in St
Dennis at the Working MensClub car park on Thursday
22nd June from 11 am to 7pm.PLEASE MAKE
